Fun Day At the Range

Told my secretary I had an important lunch meeting and hit the range earlier today. I took my Eclipse Custom II 10mm, S&W 629 Classic DX .44 mag, and my Stainless Ultra Raptor.

100 flawless rounds through my Eclipse. Smooth as can be. 400 rounds through her now and she is really smoothing out. I didn't particularly shoot very well for some reason, but it was definitely a case of operator error.

100 rounds through my .44 mag. I haven't shot it in a few months. Damn that thing shoots nice. What a blast. Great groups at 25 yards. I had the whole range stop and watch. You make a serious impression when you roll out a Stainless Steel 6-1/2" .44 mag wheel gun and squeeze the trigger. I just can't help but smile every time I squeeze the trigger. 100 rounds through her will flat wear you out though (at least me anyway).

Now the funny part. I put the .44 mag away and grabbed my Ultra Raptor. Loaded it and fired the first shot. I'm still not sure where it really went. After shooting that big, heavy, mule, the Raptor felt like a damn squirt gun in my hands. I unloaded it, set it down and proceeded to laugh a myself for a moment. It was pretty funny. Regrouped and shot 99 more flawless rounds through her. That gun is so fun to shoot and I still can't believe how accurate it is for such a short barrel.

And to make it even better... I get to break out the Hoppes #9 tonight!!
