Love their 230 gr .45, but haven't shot the 185 gr.

I've tried 185 gr rounds through a couple of my Kimbers, they worked OK. Nothing that really impressed me, I'll stick with 230's I just like to shoot heavier bullets.

I have shot about 150 rounds of the 185gr Georgia Arms ammo. No problems at all with it in my Ultra or my Detonics.

I was at Georgia Arms this morning, picked up two 100rd bags of 9mm Luger for $26.50 each. Sign on there front door said "No .22lr ammo. Did not know when they would have any and don't ask!"

Appeared to have anything else you could want.

You should have stopped at Governor's Gun Club on the way. We were there from 10:30 till a little after noon.

My Two Cents Worth

While the late Col. Jeff Cooper highly recommended the Super Vel 185 grain jacketed hollow point, nicknamed "the flying ashtray" for "social work", I am not a fan. The standard 230 grain GI hardball load (with no expansion at all) has been a legendary one shot manstopper for over 100 years. It leaves a 1/2" hole clean through any attacker. If you use a hollow point and get ANY EXPANSION , the results improve even more impressive.

You don't mess with a legend!! I use Winchester Supreme PDX1 230 grain jacketed hollow points as my .45 ACP carry load. I have used it on whitetail deer with devastating effect: 1/2" entrance wounds and a 1 1/2" exit wounds. Three deer taken with my Kimber. Three one shot kills!! I ain't arguing with that!!:D:D YMMV
