I just purchased my Ultra CDP II and was wondering if anyone else experienced problems with the guide rod not resetting fully back into the end of the gun.The rod sticks out about the width of the end of the rod.I might have 200 rounds thru it and haven't cleaned yet. It operates with no issues what so ever. If anyone has ideas on what it might be please feel free to help

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois Tommy1974. Are you saying that your guide rod is sticking out of the front of your gun when the slide is fully closed and you have been firing it like that?

Welcome to the forum from Ohio! First thing I will suggest is clean your gun per the instructions in your owners manual. It should have been done prior to shooting it. Who knows what could be in there.

It was fine at the range this past Friday night. I noticed it on sat morning and have not fired it since. I do plan on cleaning it tonight when I get home

Can you operate the slide? Does it fully open and close?

I got it figured out. Disassembled it when got home and to my surprise the recoil spring rod unscrewed from the head guide. I brought it to my local shop where it was purchased and they went thru everything. We put some Loctite on the rod and head assembly and hopefully my baby is good to go. Gonna let it setup for a day and tear it down to clean. I think i'm going to snoop on Wilson Combat for an upgrade if possible. Thanks for the concern guys!

I'm glad to hear that it all turned out OK, I was thinking "a busted recoil spring" but I had never seen or heard of it so I didn't say anything.

2sharp pull back on the slide just ever so slightly and watch the end of the guide rod,if its just setting there i would say the slide is not all the forward for some reason

I just removed pistol from holster and put it on table so that pic was cocked and locked, condition 1 ready to rock and roll.

No way!" ....now I'm thinking "I've had too much to drink, this ain't computing.".....oh. Ok. It's screwed on. Not glued on. Whoa....I have had too much to drink!

Just a quick follow up. I brought her to the range this last weekend and it performed flawlessly. I talked to a local shop that does custom work and I think I will be dropping her off to get some stuff done. Of course this means I'll have to pick something new to carry.
