A friend used one, sometine ago, in the wind, some blew back at him. He did not injoy. Kimber has one on there web site. Don't know what there potency is there are diferent grades. I have been told that a can of wasp spray is a better. Shoots a better streem and goes further, with less blow back.

"Wasp Spray" will get the job done and done fast! When living in New England each summer I would have several wasp hives on the fourth floor of the barn. Needed them gone before we started putting in the summer hay. I would visit Wal-Mart and pick up half a dozen cans. I was amazed with the distance and accuracy one can achieve. Someone tries to break into the little ladies car when she comes to a red light is in for one massive surprise. Much better then police issued pepper spray not to mention minimum twice the distance if not three times.

A Pepperblaster leaked? I thought they were designed to prevent that. I guess everything is hyped and made to sound better these days??

Wasp spray might be effective, but this is concealable and easy to carry.

Here are some YouTube videos. This stuff works. It is short range and has to be aimed. It also has a time to activate. In short, you can't spray and pray, and the assailant has time to continue the attack before the effects kick in. It is a gel that is resistant to wind, but if the assailant was close enough to physically attack you, there would be a risk of it getting on you as well. Once you verify a hit to the face, vacate and let it do it's thing.

It does look like a decent non-lethal alternative to carrying a pistol. It would be better than nothing if going into a carry restricted area. When my kids are old enough to be responsible with this product, I'm going to get it for them.

I wonder how this would work in my chili. I could have 1 shot chili, 2 shot chili and no shot chili. Haha, now I want to make chili tonight. Not with the PepperBlaster though.

I'm just getting around to looking at some of these posts and this one cracked me up about the chili! Good grief, couldn't believe someone would intentionally take a shot to the face and didn't even scream out any cuss words! Damn, he's good!

Sorry, I'll have to call B.S. on the leakage, I have used these for many years in extreme temps, high and low, left them in cars, still do, never had one leak!

Not buying the wasp spray story either.

Just got a new one from eBay, 36 bucks, free shipping! They now have a five year shelf life!

At $40-$50 a piece I will keep my handy edc...
It would be my luck to spray it and get it right back in the face and get my ass handed to me..

Yeah, that's the problem with pepper spray, or old style chemical mace. Pepper spray works better than the mace, effecting more people, but it's not full proof (has no effect on some) and usually gets on the person trying to protect themselves. Don't EVEN try to use it in an enclosed space if you are inside of it with the attacker or you'll likely incapacitate yourself too.

I haven't used a pepper blaster, but have a lot of experience with the chemical mace and later pepper spray issued by the department. Training includes being maced and pepper sprayed so we will know what it feels like. Same for the stun guns/tasers. Pepper spray effects me immediately, thankfully, I have a higher tolerance for the electric charges.

I used to demonstrate the stun gun on my forearm to show it was "non-injurious" to the healthy when someone I restrained with it complained of "police brutality" or that I hurt them. I'm sure they thought they better shut up around this psycho cop and usually quit whining!

I'm just glad they didn't require us to get shot to be able to carry the firearms too! ;)

The wasp spray was discussed in my CCW class and the instructor told us that if we used it as a personal defense, we could be liable and would very likely lose in a courtroom. Just my $.02. But, I think a better idea would be to buy a large can of "bear spray" and rely on it for personal defense.
My wife has the Kimber product, but I have no experience with it. When I was working, I bought a small can of pepper spray from the local police supply store; I only needed it 1 time, but it stopped an imminent attack from a 75 lb pit bull and it stopped the attack IMMEDIATELY.

A lady friend of mine was having trouble with a co-worker but the facility was at an airport (no weapons obviously) so I gave her a can of Berryman's B12 Chemtool carburetor cleaner. That stuff will melt your eyeballs right out of your skull!

I would think the "co-worker" lawyer would love to present this one in court. The co-worker might be in the wrong but would surely increase the amount of funds in the bank account.

Right you are. It comes under the premise of "Using the product as intended". Any other use would then be "misuse", and in today's world, you'd lose.

I'll second this... I have used pepper spray a number of times on duty against dogs and it works far better on them than the originally intended target.
