A gun that serves no practical purpose except to put smiles on faces.
The Mare's Leg was originally a cut down lever action rifle created as a prop most famously used by Steve McQueen in the TV series Wanted Dead or Alive.
Plant Eye Air gun Bullet Tints and shades

It was also seen in the opening sequence of Once Upon A Time In The West.

Revolver Plant Air gun Grass Shotgun

Several companies have made these guns over the years.
This one is a Henry.
Tube fed, big loop lever action fun.
Based on the Henry H001 rimfire rifle.
It has a 12.875" barrel, and is 25" overall.
Shoots everything from .22short to .22lr.
Its a little odd to shoot, but so far its a tack driver at 50 yards.
I love this thing.
I need to dig out my single six.

However...

Now I hear harmonica music in the distance.

If I was catching gators on "Swamp People" this would make a fine boat gun for tapping gators in the head.
Other than that, its just a fun stick.
It's very well made and the action is slick as glass.

if you stand in front of the mirror with it, and listen really close...

It will whisper that no matter what you do, you will never be as cool as Steve McQueen.
And Steves is a 45-70, way cool.

I bought a Rossi Ranch hand in 44 MAG when they first came out. Put a smile on my face because of watching Wanted Dead or Alive when I was a kid. The first time I shot it, I thought I was prepared and it almost flipped out of my hand. I found a wat to hold onto it and it was OK. Nit fun......brutal! With 44 Specials in it it was manageable but still not fun.....it was an experience. I sold it off and never had the desire to own one again. Maybe the 22LR Henry would be fun. The 44 MAG wasn't a tack driver.....it was a pile driver!

I was impressed with the quality of a Henry .22 they had at my range, smooth as owl $hit 😁. I can see bad ninja having fun with that lil darling :) It did run through my head that such a cut down version in .44 might be a lil hard to handle. As for .45-70 "no way Jose' ", my wrist (and forehead) hurt just thinking about it. I shot my Super Blackhawk a while ago and even with the Hogue grip it was brutal with my .44 magnum reloads. OUCH!!!

I love my Super Blackhawk in .44mag.
It killed the elk that the grips were made from.
