New kid on play ground. New to computers, new to your forum, not new to firearms. Thank you for letting me in. I need bunches of help and full of questions. About to purchase my first Kimber 1911. A lot of research went into my decision and put my order in for a Kimber Ultra TLE II Stainless with Crimson Trace Green and night sights. It's my understanding it will be a long wait for me according to my LGS and I expect to pay full MSRP.

I hope to find the members here to help me in my waiting period and even change my mind if about to make a mistake. I don't want to be a pest but looking forward to this experience. I know what I like but open for any suggestions and advice. Not new to firearms as I'm a still current Florida certified firearms instructor for Law Enforcement. I do know enuff to know I don't know it all. In that I am not a true "virgin" please be gentle or I will pout, cry, and go home to my Mama.

My local gun shop who me and my family has done business with since the current owner's Grandfather was selling shotguns to my Granddaddy for less than $25 brand new is sadly less than truthful if I let them. Maybe it's because I've arrested the owner's mother and his brother more than once a piece. The current owner IS a good man but like they say down here you can pick your friends but you can't pick your relatives. They told me the green CT grips are not available yet and I've confirmed that through several sources.

They have a used one (slightly used) but since this is more of an investment and legacy to be passed on to one of my sons or grandsons I want it exactly how I want it and don't want to settle for just what they have if at all possible.

THANK YOU for this info it appears to be exactly what I'm wanting if the laser is green. I'll give them a call and check on it even if the laser is red it may be mine as I could swap the red for a set of green like my buddy at the gun shop has advised me. This buddy is not the owner just an employee, but he is the ex-husband of one of my first cousins and for sure can't be trusted -- LOL. Now I need to do some serious butt kissing of Mrs. Protector 6062, this will be by my count the 7th or 8th ultimate never to buy again I'll carry this one to my death handgun plus I had to promise to not use any household money and save up the money by recycling cans and I still have another 70 tons to pick up before I have enuff.

Whoops, I missed the green part. I suspect the link is a red laser. I agree, hold out for exactly what you want. If you are thinking of swapping, you might look at the cost of buying grips separate too. (I haven't heard of green CT laser grips?)
