Hi Folks...Just bought a Crimson Ultra Carry II. Picking up tomorrow. Busy perusing the info on this site but would appreciate anyone with experienced advice in terms of new ownership, break in, resources, etc.

Looking for good IWB and Standard holsters. Would like one that incorporates an extra mag but haven't found it yet.

Speaking of extra mags...has anybody tried the XGRIP with Novak or other compatible 8 rounders...or will they even work in my ultra...advice?

Welcome to the group. Great purchase.
Holsters are a very subjective item. Lots of styles and makers. For inside, I like a good hybrid. Either Crossbreed or Foxx.
I'm not familiar with the XGRIP.

Welcome to the forum from Northern Illinois Doncoyotie. I've never had any experience with the X-grip adapter and looking at them I'm not too sure I'd trust them especially on my carry gun.

Greetings. I'd like to throw Alien Gear holsters and Remora holsters into your research pile. Follow the break in process in the owners manual. Basically strip, clean, lube, put 150 through the pipe. Strip, clean, lube, another 150 downrange. Clean it all up again, then start REALLY loving it. Kimbers are tight and need to be exercised to be happy. Congrats and welcome to KT.

Thanks for the welcome folks...will definitely start my holster search with your recommendations....right now I have it in a generic sticky.

Nellybelle...I would much like to be sucking drinks out of a pineapple in aloha land but the next best thing to that would throwing rds downrange in Hola land...:D

Bought from an outfit that has a really nice shop and indoor range. Had the shop guy break the gun down and lube it up so I could do a function test and take care of any potential issues there on the spot.

I had brought my eyes and ears and 35 rds of PMC 230 gr and 15 HPA 185 gr hp's.

Gun functioned flawlessly....

In terms of the magazine extensions...not that familiar with the 1911 platform but thought perhaps they were similar to the mag extensions Springfield employs.

Hey Folks....its been awhile so I thought I would follow up on the results of my holster search....I ended up going with a Galco Avenger 424, Galco Belt and Mag Holder.

So far it's running smooth as silk...First Kimber...I love this gun...Me thinks I am hooked.

Ok. Since Chuck is asleep at the wheel apparently, I'll say it: "Read your owner's manual." It's a real page turner and you'll learn lots of important stuff like spring life expectancy, break-in do's/don'ts and tidbits like "Don't use grease in your Kimber."

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your Kimber. We'll need pics.....
