Well it was a short but convoluted path to my first Kimber.

Just picked up a Stainless TLE II .45 and LOVE it! Only shot it once, 50 rnds, so far it's flawless. I've field stripped it and cleaned and oiled a few times and feel comfortable with it.

First time out I was shooting better than any of my previous guns!

I don't think I ever researched so much about a product aside maybe a truck and boy you gotta filter through some BS and use your own judgement! I wont name any names but a LOT of brands that were recommended instead…well…I don't know man…they left something to be desired. The Kimber impressed me on first glance and each rack of the slide like non other. The fit and finish in another class altogether from "similar" priced guns. All I can figure is since the price was a bit higher they don't get compared with production guns but custom shop and the Baer's et al….but they ARE production guns!

Anyway glad to be here and I can't believe Hayduke handle was left on the table still!

So that's me; Hayduke.

See ya around

Nice into, Hayduke. Congrats on the new Kimber. I think we've all experienced that moment of realization concerning the beauty, shootability, and value of Kimbers. Yeah, the 'other guys' will call us 'fan boys' or similar, but I don't care. 10 minutes after my wife and I put our hands on the first Kimbers we'd ever held, they were ours.

Anyway, greetings and welcome to the crew.

Welcome to the forum. Great post and a sweet stainless Kimber.

I put faith in the opinions of people I know that know what they are talking about and in my own experience. There is a gun store near me that is well stocked with quality guns and has a reputation for carrying the best. They have one special case that is just for 1911s and it is pretty much all Nighthawks and Kimbers with a few other customs. And my Kimber is like yours...the look, feel, fit and accuracy is noticeable.

What I've seen on another 1911 forum was that all the Kimber bashing came from one guy and he did a lot of it. But what I hear is someone who is anonymous, can say anything he wants and has a bug up his butt. Funny thing is, at this forum, people talk about Kimbers but don't bother bashing other gun brands.

As a special forces colonel friend of mine said about me buying a Kimber...."You did good."

I like other guns, even other 1911s. Why would I want to bash them? I'm guessing some folk who are feeling only marginally satisfied with their purchase need to ridicule others to make themselves feel better. Enjoy what you got. Admire others. Keep smiling. It's all good.

Welcome to the Kimber Club. I have numerous 45's and wanted a 9mm in my stable, thus I picked up an Ultra Aegis II last fall. I love the fit and finish of my Kimber. Follow the proper break in procedure and it'll get smoother and smoother. Just as mine has.
Check in periodically with any questions and a range report with pics. If you don't, Chuck or 'Gator might get ya!
