I reviewed a couple of videos on Youtube showing the procedure and everything went very easy. This is the first time I've ever worked on a 1911, but I have a good set of gunsmithing tools and bench blocks for working on my other guns.
I bought the Brownells mainspring pin removal tool and it worked great. It's easy to justify getting the right tools for the job...can't have too many tools.
The EB SS magwell is a quality piece. I was really impressed with the fit and finish right out of the box. Sure is nicer than the factory plastic housing that came with the pistol.
Looking forward to getting the custom magwell grips I ordered from Hogue...they show a 45 day backlog.
