Friends,

This forum has been pretty quiet for over a week so i though I'd start a discussion to see what everyone's favorite accessory for their K6S is. This could be holsters, speedloaders, grips etc.

i'll start.

My EDC is a 2" K6s and i normally carry it in my pocket in an Alabama Holster pocket holster. When I want to carry on the belt i use an Alabama holster "FlapJack" I really like this one as it allows it to ride real close at 4:00 and conceals very well with an untucked shirt.

I also carry two speed loaders made by 5 star. I am pretty sure this is the company that makes the kimber branded aluminum speed loaders as well. Lastly i carry a Zeta6 K-pak speed strip in my shirt pocket. So the kimber and a total of 24 rounds on me.

i really like the hogue bantam grips for the k6s and have a set of those on my 2" dasa. I've not gotten around to putting a set on my 3" yet but will probably do so.

What holsters and speed loaders have you found that you like? Do you have another must have accessory that you carry?

Have a great rest of the week!

Hey Tailwheel! Be sure to share a pic of the new holster when you get it! You have my interest!
Will do. Hopefully i will have it in a few weeks. He wasn't making holsters for the K6s but i bought him a mold so he could start making them for us Kimber fans.

his other work is excellent. I bought on the spot a holster for my N frame 4 " and he is going to make me an N frame 2.5" holster for my 327NG

no association other than he's local to me and a hell of nice guy that just happens to make some very nice holsters.

First thing I got was the first holster - I say that because I will likely get another - this one is the DeSantis Top Cop 2.0 to keep it in as an everyday "goes with me" revolver, it mounts and dis-mounts from the belt quickly, securely and easily. There are many places in the course of my work day it cannot go easily so...

The next is the grips - Hogue Bantams are on the way, and they will hopefully mitigate the hot spot issues I have during extended shooting. Mostly a comfort thing, not a shot placement aide at all.

Third will be a toss up between a second thumb break holster for camping and woods walking, and night sights. I'm telling ya, by the time I get done I'll be asking Kimber "What else?!"

The last accessory for this 3" DASA will be a sibling in the 2" flavor - probably a DAO though - for discrete everywhere carry. Then I can start the whole process all over again!!!! 😃😃

Great thread! Especially as I have just acquired a 2” DASA.
I’m curious as to the references to thumb break holsters for these for hiking, etc. Is there a particular reason for going that route for that use as opposed to just using the same holster you’d normally carry with? Is it because you may be doing more scrambling over rocks snd trees and whatnot? Just trying to determine if I may “need” to source such a holster for mine ;-)

Speaking for myself, the answer is "YES".

I have two carry rigs for each gun I carry alot, one for CC, usually IWB, and a companion OWB thumb-break rig for desert or mountain wandering. Many of my handguns are what I'd call "cross-over" guns, meaning they have excellent SD characteristics, and are also well suited for field work on varmints, both two-legged and four. We also have a substantial bear and cougar population here. This holster setup is especially effective for my revolvers, which get carried the most in both the outback and the mountains. (I disdain chasing fired brass in the weeds!)

You know that holster drawer we all hear about? Mine outgrew that drawer! (Choose wisely)
