After considering my local smith, Wilson Combat (who does not work on Kimber 3" guns) I decided to call Kimber to let them know of brass to the face issues--Eclipse Ultra II
Spoke to Alan, very nice, attentive and considerate. He was truely concerned of this and certainly considered it a safety issue and "will take care of it". They are even paying for the shipping after all the years I've owned it.
So far, so good and I'm impressed.

Kimbers customer service is one of the best in the industry. I've heard of cases where they've covered repairs on a gun for a second owner that wasn't expecting or asking for it.

I sent a cdp ultra 9mm in a few years ago. They were great. Paid for shipping, thoroughly cleaned the gun, and were very courteous and accomodating. But ( of course there's a "but" ) they kept my baby for over 5 weeks. I guess they were backed up.

They (UPS) tried to deliver the weapon last night to my home. So that was exactly 2 weeks. I had it rerouted to deliver to my business so I should have it tomorrow. And what do you know, I had range plans for Saturday.

Got it back. They adjusted the extractor and replaced the ejector. They tested the gun with 4 different kinds of ammo including 185g.
What I was most impressed with-they removed a frame scratch I put on it 4 or 5 years ago so the gun looks new again-really. I purposely did NOT tell them the front sight doesn't glow any longer as I don't want any adjustment to a perfectly deadly accurate pistol.
Range report soon.

Ya know, I read so much on different forums and FB about people trying so hard to fix a real or perceived problem with a handgun. Then they are all upset, feel like they made a bad decision, feel cheated, bad-mouth the manufacturer, on and on ... when all they really should have done is to send it back and let a professional fix it.

Does it always turn out to be a perfect resolution to the problem? No, unfortunately. But why put yourself though the agony of trying to fix it yourself?

Hope she performs perfectly at the range. We look forward to your report.

Range report:

Major feeding issues (stoved) using Kimber/Wilson mags(new issue).
49th round, brass to the safety glass; a total of 10 hits to the glasses out of 125 rounds using 4 different types of ammo.
The hits to the glasses had never happened before; always above the eyes before.
If you take anything from this thread, do NOT rely on reading glasses for safety as these hits were strong-enough to chip quality safety gear.

Called Kimber this morning, the gal was as sweet and apologetic as you can get. They are sending a shipping label and want the gun back. That makes me happy.
Interesting tho, I stripped gun down before range time and noticed it was well oiled and ready to shoot. More interesting was the new ejector had some interesting angles done to it. I should have taken a picture but side by side with the TLE there was some significant differences. The TLE made it through it's break in without a single problem this weekend. It's a shooter!

Sent Ultra CDP II for FTF, FTE problems. 7 weeks and 5 days, still waiting. Paid my own shipping $90. Trying to be optimistic.
I got my Pro CDP II back last week after Kimber had it for 4 business weeks. I was told that the current backlog is 5 weeks. The first time I sent it back (in 2012) shipping was $96.50 from Las Vegas (Next Day Air is required).
