Bought a new Kimber micro 9 Crimson in desert tan. This is not my first Kimber or my first Crimson. Never had any issues with the others. The micro 9 is a different story. Cleaned and oiled before taking it back to the range like all pistol parents do..:) This gun consistently jammed. Left one spent round half in the chamber and the next round stuck up underneath, trying to exit like a newborn baby. I have to drop the mag while pulling the slide back. Then rerack so the spent casing ejects. Jams 2-3 times on every clip (6 or 7 rounder). In addition, first 100 rounds fired without the laser on. Turned it on, it would turn off in 2-3 shots. Turned the gun sideways and then the laser turned back on. It turns out the switch to turn the laser on and off is just kind of floating. There is no hard click on or off. VERY disappointed but when it did work, shot great. Dealer said they will call Kimber and let me know. Their gunsmith did not want to look at it even though I had a major jamming issue and I bought it from them 2 days ago. Thoughts on all this?

Sorry your having problems, but Kimber will make it right.
1st what type of ammo were you shooting? did you happen to try another brand?was it 115, 124, 147 grn and what brand.
2nd sounds like a bad switch on the laser, either Kimber or Crimson will replace the laser assbly
3rd if the gunsmith that you bought the gun from would not take a look a it and it was only 2 days old, I would in no uncertian terms let him know that I will never do business with him again and would tell my friends to stay away.
Just my $.02

The gunsmith did the right thing, he was probably aware of the fact that had he started working on it he could have possibly voided the factory warranty on the gun. Contact customer service and discuss it with them.

Winchester 115. I've been using this for years. My UZI eats these things like candy. I am going to clean it again, take a look at the extractor, shoot it some more and then turn it over to the dealer if the issues continue. I assume they (Crimson) will send me a new laser grip so not too concerned about that. Just want a reliable gun at that price-point. Thanks everyone. Will let you know more after the weekend.

Just for fun, try a different brand and 124 or 147gr ammo.

Sego7, Sounds like my Micro 9 when I first took it to the range.
Seemed like the ejector was too loose. Found several write-ups and videos on adjusting the extractor. I did get a little better performance after that but not what I expected.
Called Kimber and got a prepaid return sticker.
They adjusted the extractor, did a lot of cleaning up, replaced a few springs and put 3 mags of ammo thru it.
When I got it back I put about 150 rounds thru it with no issues at all.
If the laser was a Kimber installed item I would contact Kimber and send it back. Let them fix it. You don't need the LGS involved.

Second trip to the range was worst than the first. Friend of mine bought the same gun on the same day. He never cleans a new gun, rarely cleans any gun. Anyways, he had zero jams in 250 rounds, when not mistaking his P-938 mag for a kimber mag. My slide release started to back out from the lower a few times this locked the slide back about 1/2 way to all the way back. Took a minute to find the issue was the slide release. Very strange. All the other stuff was still an issue. Took it back to the dealer. They agreed to send it off to kimber for tuning. Also, sometimes the last round would eject out of the barrel and sit on top of the magazine. Sometimes the spent shell came straight back and hit me right in the forehead. Sometimes it went off to the side some times up and out as it should.

To clarify my answer to the OP, the OP said that the gunsmith would not even look at the gun even though he bought it at the shop. That is what I have a problem with, I agree with the others in let KIMBER fix it as it is under warranty. But I see no reason the gunsmith could not have looked at it to see if there were any obvious problems and conveyed it to the OP. The way I read the post is basically that once the shop had his money they did not want to be bothered with his problem.

Make sure that you register the LG at Crimson. My CT laser grips on my Micro 9 died after 3 months. I had to mail them back to CT at my own expense which was about $28 insured through UPS which took 10 days to deliver. CT said to assume a 10 day repair time and then shipment time back. They did not update me after receipt of the grips, but when I reached out to them they told me that they were sending me a new pair of grips. I didn't think that they were as customer friendly as Kimber CS but they did come through for me.

I called kimber to make sure they had a list of all the issues. The dealer sent the gun in with only the slide release issue noted. So I told the guy the rest of the issues. He said he updated the file. I called a week later to check on the status. The kimber rep did not add all the items listed either. So I went through the exercise again. My point is to follow up. If they are going to have my gun for up to 6 weeks and they did not fix all the issues, then that would be my fault for not ensuring they had everything listed to address. I don't want to be in a position to have to send it back a second time.

This is why you should have called Kimber yourself the first time and sent it in and not have the dealer do it for you. Sounds like they have a computer glitch that's not updating their system.
