Does anyone own one? What are your thoughts. What ammo does it function with best? I know Kimber has stopped making them. Have not seen much talk about the Sapphire on here. Maybe it has it's own forum. Thanks

The Sapphire Ultra II is still listed on Kimbers website but not in the 2014 Kimber catalog. It was a nice looking gun but there were problems with the finish, it wasn't very durable and easily scratched.

Oh and, the ammo it functions best with would probably be 45 ACP!
Good luck with loading those .45's in a gun that was only chambered in 9mm, LOL.

If you can't find a Sapphire and want some bling for a Midtown parade, try one of these.

Not seen that Sig in person. I do have a Kershaw knife with the Rainbow finish that is my "dress up Sunday knife". If you think about it the factory finish on a lot of guns does not "hold up", if it is used and carried. So can't dismiss it or any other on that fact. I was wondering how the Sapphire measured up did not expect them to be that rare. Hard to believe that at least one of you guys don't own a Sapphire. If you want to keep your Sapphire ownership on the down low just send me a PM. Mums the word. LOL

I guess some guns aren't kept in the safe, but in the closet. :D

Well, I was doing a little research and found a youtube video. The Sapphire was introduced at the 2012 Shot Show, which I did not know. So dropped from production at end of 2013. Don't know how many were really produced. I know not everyones cup of tea. Seeing some showing up on couple different auction sights, most of them a lot higher than the old MSRP for the pistol.

When production has ended for any weapon does the factory MSRP go out the door?

I would expect, as a seller, that anyone wanting to buy a gun that has been discontinued from production, is a collector and is willing to pay more than original MSRP.

I could see the price going up on a limited production item like the Sapphire especially if it was kept in new condition and never fired.
