I’d never get rid of my Colt Mk IV Series 70. My orig carry back in ‘81. Had it tuned, still can rack it and had it cut for new sights. Then re-chromed.
Still shoots like a fine tuned machine.

Thanks... Got kinda scratched up over the years of carrying. I wanted it re-nickeled but a lot of refinishers don't do that anymore. So, they hard chrome it. Just as durable if not more and still looks like orig.

I’m with ya. I love chrome personally. My Harley was a Heritage Softail that I took the bags and windshield off of so it was stripped down to look like a Softail Deluxe basically and I put almost every piece of chrome imaginable on it. I always loved the silhouette of the 1950s hard tail bikes without the discomfort of being a hard tail haha. Harley has gone away from a lot of the nostalgic look and blacked out everything which is why the newer ones don’t appeal to me personally. I love stainless guns because those are the most chrome-like. I have a couple of Sapphire Ultras too. I’m a sucker for shiny and nostalgic.

Whoa, don’t like chrome that much. Lmao.
Gun is ez to clean and shine but hated chrome on my bikes. Big mistake is had a RK classic with spoked wheels. Hated cleaning bicycle spokes when I was a kid. My truck has chrome wheels. What was I thinking, but I digress.
Some of my others are polished stainless. Just as nice. Ez to keep nice.

Hey I rode mine daily year round for 22 months before totaling it. I put 46k miles on it in that time. The chrome cleaning wasn’t the exhausting part for me, it was scrubbing those wide white wall tires weekly at a minimum. But hey, everything worth having comes at a cost to us and I loved that bike like it was a piece of me. May she rest in peace.

This Kimber thing cracks me up !!!, but I digress, I've been carrying firearms since 1978,(24/7) Colts, S&W, HKs, name it I've probably carried it or fired it at one time. I've shied away from Kimbers until I bought a Super Carry Ultra HD ( now thats a name) Anyway this girl gave me fits until Steve from Allentown explained the issue. 5 minutes later she was running like a top. I did have an older SIS pro back in 2008 or 9..sweet gun but had to sell her due to a divorce ( I think that was wife #2) Anyway to my point...hopefully Monday I'll pick up my KHX pro and.....wait for it. Another SIS Pro !! I feel like the gun gods have righted a wrong !!! To be honest Colts have given me more issues than any Kimber, and right now I'm carrying a TLE custom..any way thanks guys I love lurking and gaining some great bits of info !!!
I hear ya there. As an FFL Dealer, I've sold more Colts than Kimbers but honestly, I had more issues with Colts and the newer model Sigs than my Kimber. I've been collecting Kimbers and other Firearms for many years. My wife always tells me I have an Addiction Problem :ROFLMAO: but I have to admit all my Kimber Collection sits pretty on my glass showcase in my vault and only shot a magazine in each one of them and some I have never shot including my SIS Collection. I've been rotating my Concealed Carry pistols between my Springfield, Kimber Ultra Carry, and my Wilson Combat Sentinel but I'm really starting to like shooting my R7 Mako. I might start carrying that even though I've been a Die Hard 1911 guy ;)

I want a Colt 1911 in God’s caliber of course for the rollmark, but I’m being very specific. If I can ever find a Colt Combat Elite Defender or Colt Combat Elite Commander in .45 ACP for an affordable price I’ll snatch it up. BUT all I see mostly from Colt available anymore are revolvers. Sad face.
