Logo Merchandise

OK, I hope this doesn't come across as a whining post, but I have a question.

I like to play golf. Why does that matter? Well, on a golf course you must wear a collared shirt. So, I'm used to buying decent polo style shirt and some type of hat. I don't splurge, so they're usually in the $18 to $25 range.

Then I visit some of the online stores for some of my favorite manufacturers and they have logo merchandise for that price or much more, plus you have to pay shipping. This annoys me (ok, I'm easily annoyed.) Why in the world would I pay $5 or $10 more for a shirt just for the privilege of advertising your product? I'm gonna strut all over town wearing your logo, being a walking billboard, and have to pay extra for the privilege? Nope, don't think so.

So, to the question eluded to above.

Do you pay the extra $$$ for logo merchandise? If so, why?

Harley Davidson tee shirt's just because I'm a sucker for those. and a few even have collars.
Back in the day we would in a heartbeat. The boyz I ran around with wouldn't be caught without a Polo or an Izod shirt and designer jeans.
I would actually go to Famous Barr{now Macys} and get the socks with the logo on them and have my mom cut the logo off and sew it on to a plain shirt.
Now days I could give a rats ass what on my clothes except for my work jeans. They have to be Carhartt..
That being said,I think my boxers are designer briefs.Nascar drawers I call them. Because when I take them off there's sometimes skid marks in them..
"That will make ya not eat breakfast this morning...

After thinking about it, I still do hawk companies logo's.
I wear Kimber Ruger and S&W hats and shirts.
I have NRA and NAGR jackets.
I wear nothing but Levi jeans..{they make my tractor sexy}
My tennis shoes are old skool Chuck Taylor hi-tops.
My range bags are Kimber and Ruger.

Dammit Man...I'm a walking freaking billboard and not getting paid...$$$$

The only time I buy logo merchandise for Golf is when I visit a particular Golf Course that's on my bucket list :) Otherwise, I pick them up on sale at the factory outlet or Amazon. $18-$25 is my range for shirts/pants, nothing more for golf apparel.
My brother is a golf nut also. He wears his bright colored shirts, hats and his ballz even have a logo on them..
But it's not about golf, it's about being Jeff, I mean a walking billboard ( ;) )

I've been there. Used to make me feel connected, like part of group. Sometimes the logos are really cool and make a fashion statement. Sometimes they are just advertising.

What kicked off this thread, in my mind, was the Alien Gear logo. I have one of their IWB holsters and saw a post on another forum where they were highlighting their new and improved apparel. I think they have a cool logo, but in my mind, if I'm going to advertise for your company, I should be able to buy a $25 shirt for $15. You can write off the $10 as an advertising expense.

So, if there are two shirts, both $25, one with a logo, one without, I will choose the one without the logo.

I've got a Cabela's hat that they gave me during a promotion but other then that I don't buy into paying for the privilege of advertizing somebody elses products. I'll wear clothes with the little manufactures brands like Carhart and Wranglers but I don't buy shirts designed with advertizing on the front or back.
