Recently picked up a R7 Mako for my wife as a new CC pistol. Today was the first day we took it to the range. The first magazine my wife put through it at 10 feet it was grouping about 4-5" low and 1" left. So I put a magazine through it and had the same results. Just to make sure it wasn't me I put a mag through my Canik which was dead on. The shooting low and left was consistent the entire time we were shooting it.

I know I can adjust the windage, but there is no elevation adjustment on the sights. Maybe Kimber can take care of this? Or just dump it off and get something else? Unfortunately we bought it used.

You could try calling Kimber, and they will most likely help you out.

My advice?
Spend a buck thirty five, slap a red dot on it, zero, and shoot fist sized groups at 100 yards.

I has the CT 1500 on it. Which was somewhat zero'd when we started shooting and was WAY out of zero by the time we finished. And that was only about 50 rounds through it. It's going right in the trash. I have an RMRcc sitting around that I'll throw on it if I can get the irons situated.

The CT that comes with the Mako is hot garbage.

My wife's has the CT Pro (we added it to the OR version) and it has been a tack driver.
Be sure to use a little locktite.

The CT that comes with the Mako does adjust for height and windage. Line up your standard 3 dot night sights and dial that dot right over the front bead (center of dot on front site) did this with mine and it's a 1 hole gun at 10 yards. The Standard CT has preformed perfect for me since the Mako came out. No complaints. If it moves off 0 on you double check your mount screws.

To note, I am an experienced shooter. Military and competition background. My wife is also an experienced shooter with over 20 years of shooting experience.

I did sit down shoot it from rest. I was still seeing it group low.

The CT dot on it is just garbage. We shot it at my neighbors berm, zeroed it and after a couple magazines the zero was way off. I did check the mounting screws, they were all tight and torqued properly. We took it off and put the RMRcc on it. Zeroed and it's grouping nicely now. The pistol can shoot great groups, just not at POA with the irons.

I've had several people shoot this pistol and they all say the irons are not right. We have an email sent to Kimber, have yet to hear back from them.

@Chrisc8111 I used to always post the “chart” pic and it was almost always NOT received well. The OP’s most always said they are expert shooters and don’t need no stinking chart…
I’m certain Kimber will correct the POI problem, could be a deeper problem than sights?

Pro tip:

Every gunfight is open class.
Run what you brung.

The choice is yours.
I won't be at your gunfight, and you won't be at mine.
If you choose to make the 15 yard shot on a moving target in a crowd, under duress, with an LCP, so be it.
It's your decision to make.

Personally, I carry a gun with an optic, and/or sights I can actually use.
