I was on Kimber America today and saw this. Just thought I would post it for the Mako owners in case you didn't know.
I bought a Glock in the early 90's. Within a year they sent me a letter announcing a recall that had something to do with the trigger. Meh. I had a good gun, so I didn't care, and I threw out the letter. Twenty years later, the gun was still perfect, but I began to think that my prior decision might have been hasty. I called up Glock and they told me, "Sure! We can perform the recall work and the other refinements we've implemented in the past twenty years."
Dang, they got them all over in Gun shops here in Michigan. I see them everywhere I go.My new Mako was delivered to the dealer and before I could even pick it up I got another email telling me that a refund had been issued to my account due to the gun not actually having been put in my hands and had to be returned to Kimber. The biggest bummer is that no one, even Kimber, can give me a timeline on when i will be able to take delivery of a new and improved Mako. They said it could be as long as 6 months. Bummer.
You might want to look again cause they are pulling them off the shelves and sending them back to Kimber as of Tuesday. The 3 biggest Kimber dealers down here in the DFW area have removed them from their websites as out of stock.Dang, they got them all over in Gun shops here in Michigan. I see them everywhere I go.
