Hi guys im a new Kimber owner and new to this forum. Just purchased a .380 micro raptor sts. Put 203 rounds of winchester white box 95 grain. I had 3 ftf which doesn't bother me since im still breaking it in. Its deadly accurate and at 10 yards I was hitting wherever I was aiming at.

I shot 53 rounds to the head and had some guy say ("guy keeps taking all head shots") lol. 50 to the chest area. 50 to the left elbow, and the last 50 to white space. Great firearm and cant wait until the 9mm micro comes out. I sold my stainless SW 1911 and wanted another stainless gun so bad. Wanted a raptor version of the 9mm micro but I know that will be quite a wait so I snagged the .380.

There is no recoil and this will be my light clothing gun and used for sleeping. (I wear it in a clasped ankle holster in condition 3). Love this piece and look forward to learning from this forum and contributing where possible.

Take care,

-aich

Welcome from Ohio. Your also the first I can remember of not going into a nut roll over a couple failure's. You'll just keep shooting until it's broken in and you really like the shooter. You should get a prize ! Of course you picked a Raptor, the most beautiful of all Kimbers. Pictures of the shooter and the target are in order

Welcome, aich, the Micros are fine CC pistols, once you break them in and work the bugs out. The Raptor model is probably the finest. Thanks for the report. Break it in with 95-100grn ball ammo and keep it clean and on the wet side.

As for the sleeping thing with an ankle holster, you are the first I've heard do that. Good luck living where you do.

Welcome to the forum from Texas. Glad you are happy with your Micro's performance. If you do have problems down the line be sure and ask. We won't think you are going in to a nut roll to learn from the ones who own many Kimbers. Glad to have you here.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcomes! Sorry I had to wait to get to my computer to upload optimized pictures. Didn't want to upload crazy large images. Here you go!

Hi Donald, As mentioned earlier I got rid of my measly 8 +1 SW1911 and I switched it out for a 12 +1 Walther PPQ .45 ( I already had the PPQ 9mm M1 so I was already spoiled). The PPQ is next to me in a locked safe.

I am always armed where I am legally allowed to. And I avoid places I cannot carry unless I have no other choice (such as University etc). But that being said I also have little ones and am all about safety. I don't live in a bad neighborhood but anything can happen to anyone at anytime, and I like to be prepared. For that reason I wear an ankle holster to sleep.

I used to keep an lcp there but I feel much much safer having the micro in condition 3. That way it's an impossibility that there could be any type of negligent discharge, and I have immediate reach to a firearm if need be. However if I have enough time to reach my PPQ then that's my go to. I know sages praise long guns but I am more confident with my hand gun abilities. I picked up the ankle holster idea from an online forum, I believe that post gave Massad Ayoob the credit.

Originally it was supposed to be a revolver in the ankle holster since it could fire under covers but I feel the micro is much more comfortable than my revolvers. That's why I had a lcp there prior.

I just want to carry as much as I can because that's the whole point of being a ccw holder. Murphy's Law you know!

welcome to KT aich :)

Fine looking little Raptor you have there. Seems like the Micros can be kinda fussy when it comes to ammo. Mine didn't care for Winchester target?
Thanks for posting, keep us updated with your progress and what the little bird eats.
