First time out with my new Solo
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------I posted this on the Nevada Shooters Site as well. I think the Clark County Shooting park has gotton a bad rap from some folks. I hope this sheds a better light on the center as well as talking about the Solo!
I purchased a new Kimber Solo CDP LG a couple of weeks ago and the urge to try this gun out built up. I called around to find some extra ammo for target practice and found most places that had any wanted all of the money.
I spent the afternoon at Clark county Shooting park. I must say a very enjoyable afternoon. Every one that I came in contact with was pleasant, courteous, and helpfull. Encluding the range nazis as some people call them. The place was clean, orderly, and well mantained. I did not here any screaming from the RSO's.
I called out there, before the drive out, to see if they had any 9mm ammo in stock. Was told they did, I did not ask the price, just drove out. When I arived and checked in I was told that there was a 3 box limit per each range fee per day. Sounded O.K. to me so I asked for my three. The total came to $61.00. I paid and did not think about it. Later I checked my recipt, was charged $7.00 line fee and 3 boxes of 9mm was $54.00 for a total of $61.00.
I am not complaining, just surprised, that came out to $18.00 per box and no tax. I put 250 rounds through the Solo its a snappy little firearm, and my hand is sore, and tired at 9 and a half yards I had groups of 5 inches, I know
practice, and more practice. but I think I did O.K. the first time out with this gun.
As I was packing up to leave, I was thanked by everyone of the Range nazi's and people working there asked if I had an enjoyable time, and asked to please come back. I have used the center in the past, was not looking for the drive out, but all in all it was a good day and plesant experance. I will go back more often after today!
