Not The Only NASCAR Fan...

The rain delays are getting to be a pain in the tail!! Oh well, I enjoy the races no matter when they start. Heck, I went to the track the year the Atlanta spring race was canceled due to SNOW!!! I had the thought of putting snow tires or chains on the cars and turning them loose. That would have been a hoot!!!:eek::eek:

I am a fan though. My daughter paid for me to do the Richard Petty Driving Experience at Atlanta Motor Speedway......TWICE!!!!

My brother and I did it at Atlanta Motor Speedway a few years ago. It's an awesome experience. We did the ride along first. Ride with a professional driver. It helped get acclimated to the speed. Then I was on my own!

When you jump on it in those cars it puts you back in the seat that's for sure!!

If you like speed, you should try it.

I think I'd rather do Road Atlanta in some type of cart. Going around in circles doesn't do it for me.

I have done both in a kart and a car. Lol. Oval racing is a blast. Plus sanctioning bodies little more tolerant of bumping, rubbing and moving guys in oval track. Not so much in with the road coarse gang. Don't ask how I know:eek: 15 years driving fender cars on short tracks

Trust me, it satisfies your need for speed!! I was clocked at 187 MPH on the back stretch!!! YEE HAW!!:D:D:D

In 1969, I drove a Dick Harrell owned 427 Super Stock Camaro in the World Points Final at Kansas City International Raceway. Dick had 2 funny cars and 3 super stock cars entered in the race. There was not enough of Dick to go around. Dick drove one funny car and one super stocker. He hired a pro driver named T.L. Walker to drive the other funny car and one of the other super stockers. He grabbed a 16 year old wild man, that we all know today as The Lineman, to drive the remaining super stocker!! I will never forget going from zero to 183 MPH in a standing quarter mile in less than 10 seconds!! OMG!!! Even going in a straight line can be a hell of hoot in the right ride!!!!
