So excited about my purchase. I cleaned my new kimber and am waiting for a nice day at the range. I wanted to remove the sticker for the laser (thi warning sticker. 1. It's very hard to get off. 2. Lots of residue left on the barrel.

Anything specially for guna I could use? Or anything you've used in the past.

Just concerned b4 I go and use something and it damages the finish!

Eh, I left mine on. For me, the UC2 was a "carry only" pistol, you know, for motorcycle rides, safely buying a Subway sandwich, and going to my cousins' weddings and parole hearings.

I figured in time the stickers would fall off, or wear off or keep some errant scratch from marring the pistol. I kept the "remove by owner only" sticker on the tank of my "48" and it kept the edges of my jacket from spoiling the finish.

If pulling the sticker off leaves adhesive, just use your normal gun cleaning solvent and rub with a rag. Hope you enjoy your CCCII.

Yeah, I would think some Hoppes#9 would take off glue and not harm your pistol.

Does it really bother you guys that much? This is a carry gun, and it will probably see holster wear, sweat, scratches and dings only to be shoved into a prima facie evidence bag as it's confiscated.

In a modern world that spends so much on "branding" and status, does the little sticker mean that much?

When I hold and look at my guns, I see a work of art, not a block of steel. Yes, I demand it work properly, as all tools should, but I also require it to look and feel as nice as I can make it.

I absolutely leave mine on! Both of them. They are serious safety warnings and I'm worried about the liability if I were to remove them. What if I had to draw my weapon and the laser shined in the BGs eye? If he survived the encounter, I could be in trouble for causing him serious eye damage. If the stickers are still on the gun, it's his fault for not looking away from the laser.

What if I'm at work giving a presentation and my laser pointer goes out? I would not be able to use the laser sight on my pistol to continue the presentation without that warning label intact. I work for a hospital system. We do important work and I would be lost without my backup laser pointer courtesy of Crimson Trace. My regular laser pointer has a warning label on it too. I take special care not to damage it.

PETA would send assassins after me if they knew my history with cats. When I was 18 and my sister was 5 I put her car on the roof and showed her. The cat jumped down after a while. No problem. She's grown now and her version of the story is the cat was up there for days until it passed out from starvation and dehydration causing it to fall off the roof. She then barely saved its life nursing it back to health.

BTW, a cat will NOT land on its feet if it is spinning. . .

Thx

Thanks for all the info guys/gals! Just wanted to be sure that regular cleaner would work! Personal experience is always better than anything...

To each their own if you want your stickers on the gun. While this is a primary carry pistol. I will not be carrying it and pride myself in keeping my guns looking as good as possible. I didn't mean to affect anyone...

Again thank you all for your opinion.... Also not sure why some of you went soooo off topic and feel the need to poke fun at others. Always looking for a mature group for gun talk...

I understand the concept. I have a Medford knife right here worth about as much as any SIG. It's nice to have some well made things.

I'm talking "defensive tools." Here, I think shooters fall into the "Whore/Madonna Syndrome." In other words, they 'love' the thing so much they get tentative about using it.

I do not use my UC2 as a hammer. It is lubricated, cleaned, and carried in a properly fit, leather holster. In a defensive exchange, however, I will use every attribute that pistol offers--including beating the foolish attacker to death.

I just bought a gigundo Rough Rider clip-knife in a slip-joint. Didn't even bother sharpening it, I left it "in the white." I paid about six bucks for it. I needed a new traveling food knife for slicing larger sandwiches. Sure, I'll clean it when I get home from the day's travels, but it's going to see a lot of honey mustard--that's its job.

I view my Kimber in the same light.

And that would be my fault, I've tried a couple of times in a nice way to slow that down but it just doesn't work. If I took a hard line on it half of them would probably quit the forum and now that we're finally getting our feet under us it would be a big set back. I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't.
