Hello to all. I recently just bought my first Kimber yesterday and I love it. This is my first 1911 so I do not know much. I was wondering if there is anyone who could recommend some good range ammo. I have a pro carry II. I have put 200 rounds of blazer brass 230gr FMJ through it. It did ok. I had 3 FTF when loading a new mag. Any information would be great.

Welcome to

For single box purchases I prefer PMC or American Eagle 230 gr FMJ. I've switched over to buying 500 rnds at a time from Georgia Arms. They are reloads, but shoot very well in my Kimber.

Congrats on the new gun and welcome.

Welcome to the forum from Ohio! Congratulations on choosing a Kimber. I have a PCII that has become my EDC. Kimber recommends 230 gr ball ammo during your break in time which should be at least 500 rounds. My best suggestion is to thoroughly read your owners manual and follow it's instructions and you'll be fine.

Welcome to the forum.I also have a PCII and shoot mostly Freedom Munition and American Eagle. If it is a new gun, never let the mfg know if you shoot remanufactured ammo since it will void the warranty.{Ammunition page section 2 of owners manual} I use reman and have never had one problem with it.Good luck with your new Kimber.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois kbiernot. I like Winchester ammo but almost any name brand 230 gr FMJ ball ammo will work just fine. Reloads from Freedom Munitions are another favorite for range ammo.

Welcome from Ky. I also have a Pro Carry II. I use Federal American Eagle 230 gr. FMJ. After 750 rounds I had my first FTF then switched from my stock Kimber mags to Wilson Combat ETM mags and have never had another. Currently at 1500 rounds since Christmas.

Now that's some fine ammo right there and reasonably priced if you shop around. I've got a few thousand rounds of it. AE is good as well, winchester white...good stuff too. This applies to a 1911 BTW...I have other semi's that will shoot anything without problems.

I saw that. How much is shipping? Do they collect sales tax?

I can drive to Villa Rica and pick up ammo from Ga Arms, but still have to pay sales tax.

Really good price on the .45 reman. Unfortunately they are out of stock. I'm just about to get low on .45 ammo.
