Hello everyone, I’m a 1911 noob and I just purchased a Kimber SS LW .45 with a Vortex Venom optic. I can’t wait to shoot it. I’ve also never joined a gun forum but I’ve already learned a ton of things from all of you. I hope you guys have a great year.

I have an Aegis Elite Custom w/Vortex Venom and am really warming up to the red dot sight on combat pistols.

Welcome to the Forum. Please read the owners manual and clean and lube your new gun before the first range visit. A lot of people say to rack the slide a hundred times or so while you’re watching TV to help with break in.
