I'm noticing a new trend here the last couple of days, newer members are going into the "New Member Introduction" forum and welcoming members that have joined the forum before them. What's the purpose of it, bored, killing time, running up a post count? I log onto the forum in the morning and find XX new posts, XX are "Welcome from XXXXX" posted by newer members greeting older members. I like this place, it's a helpful, friendly community, let's not turn it into one of those places that are on my avoid at all costs list.

This is good advice. Running up post counts by responding to old threads doesn't get you anywhere!

I still don't get what the big deal is about post counts. It's the content of the post, not the number. Just my opinion, yours may be different and that's ok too.
I couldn't agree with you more, I have more respect for the guy that makes one informative, helpful, intelligent post a day then the guy that floods the forum 20 times a day with meaningless posts.
