Just picked up my new Super Carry Pro HD yesterday. Took it down, wiped it down and headed to the range. Holy Moly! I am floored.

I have not owned a 1911 in nearly 30 years, and had actually started to believe the chatter that says the famed quality of the 1911 trigger is just hype. I have never been so happy to prove myself wrong.

Shot 100 rounds of Speer Lawman 230 grain TMJ, followed by 15 rounds of Federal 230 grain +P JHP. 115 rounds, not a single malfunction of any kind, 2-3 inch groupings at 10 yards.

I have 5 Glocks, 3 Berettas, 3 Sigs and a Springfield Armory keeping each other company in the safe. Probably gonna let them be for while. Never has one of those triggers felt this natural or performed this well. I wish someone was giving ammo away, because I can't wait to get back out to the range.

Here's my question, are there others like me, who listened to the 1911 haters, confined themselves to other pistols, and denied themselves a great shooting experience like this for years? If so, what was your first experience, after you stopped taking the blue pill?

20+ years ago I sold all but one of my 1911s and all but one of my Silhouette handguns to help finance my son's education. Single parent and recently retired from the USAF kind of forced the deal. I have regretted it ever since. I've been getting back into 1911s since retiring again and I am really enjoying it. My most recent acquisition is a Pro CDPII and I absolutely love it. It's an '08 model that I picked up though some horse trading with my LGS. It appeared to have been used very little and looked like new. I figured I would go ahead and replace the recoil spring and the MSH because the former probably needed it and the latter is plastic. (that was a surprise) Since I have a habit of not leaving well enough alone I installed the following Wilson Combat parts. MSH with Speed-Chute, beavertail grip safety, flat wound recoil spring kit, mainspring, firing pin and spring, and sear spring. It didn't really need all of that, but what can I say, I was on a roll. I'm in the process of breaking it in again and I am loving this pistol. Light enough that when i get 3-400 rounds through it it's gonna take over as my EDC. The accuracy really surprised me when we were shooting golf balls in the back yard last weekend. Did I mention I love this thing? There will be a couple more Kimbers in my future.
I'm glad you're getting back into them and it sounds like you have a winner.

Picked up about a month ago. Have probably 2000 rounds through it. not even a hick up. Ordering some parts to improve performance. Will end up a super handgun I am sure.
What parts are you ordering, and what improvements are you looking to see? Haven't made any changes to mine, but just curious.

I wanted to get a HD but couldn't find one to save my life. I finally picked up a Super Carry Pro and haven't looked back. It's easily the most comfortable and accurate 1911 I've ever shot.
