Recently acquired a Safe Queen Pro Crimson Carry II. Previous owner claimed 50 rounds down pipe or less so I brought it home, cleaned and oiled it up, grabbed a box of Federal FMJ and took here to the range. Very impressed overall but coming from a Glock 19 did notice a few things and was left with a few questions I am hoping the masses can answer. of this is my first 1911 so bare with me here.

Slide release - Can an extended slide release be added without having to file the grips? With a gun grip I can barely reach the release but even if I can get a hold of it it is so tight I almost have to use my left hand to drop the slide.

Guide Spring - I have read around quite a bit about changing the guide spring to the Wolff 32725 18.5lb spring. Will this tame the recoil any and will this resolve the hard slide engagement mentioned above?

Firing Pin Spring - Read how many had suggested replacing this as well which replacing or ordering the guide spring but to what benefit?

Magwell MSH - Which magwell MSH? I see Kimber has one as well as Ed Brown, Wilson Combat, S&A. It would be nice to have a little easier loading of magazines into the magwell.

Checking front of grip area on frame - Is there an add-on piece to add checkering similar to what is on the current MSH?

Any other parts that should be replaced other than the magazine of course? Not sure of age of gun but on disassembly and cleaning all internals looked GTG.

Thanks in advance

Basically your gun isn't broken in yet and until it is I wouldn't be making any changes on it in case it has to go back to Kimber.

Your gun is new and tight the slide release will loosen up as the gun gets broken in. I don't have a set of Crimson grips so I can't be 100% sure but looking at my WC extended slide release I think that it should be OK.

Guide Spring - I have read around quite a bit about changing the guide spring to the Wolff 32725 18.5lb spring. Will this tame the recoil any and will this resolve the hard slide engagement mentioned above?

To the best of my knowledge Kimber uses Wolff springs in there guns, the factory spring is 18 lbs, I don't think that extra 1/2 lb is going to make any difference.

Firing Pin Spring - Read how many had suggested replacing this as well which replacing or ordering the guide spring but to what benefit?

The factory firing spring is good for 5000 rounds, unless you're having problems why would you want to change it on a new gun?

Magwell MSH - Which magwell MSH? I see Kimber has one as well as Ed Brown, Wilson Combat, S&A. It would be nice to have a little easier loading of magazines into the magwell.

Anyone you like as long as it's made for a full size frame.

I have to agree with what Chuck has said. Get the gun in full fighting order before you consider random changes. After breaking in, most people will find the meg well is fine, the springs work great an the only thing they need to do is relieve the left grip panel a bit to accommodate the slide release.
After you have it broke in, then decide which changes you want and which ones you need. It's quite probable your changes will all be under the want column.

I agree if it ain't broke don't fix it but my intent is to tame a little of the recoil out if the gun and was thinking that this would be accomplished with a recoil guide rod and spring replacement. I have no issues with any of the other parts currently other than maybe the MagWell for easier reload.

On the first trip to the range I had no problems with FTF or FTEs so maybe I am lucky in that regard.

If it were me, I'd wait until I had at least 500 rounds through the gun before even considering changing things. Also remember that Kimber will not cover a modified gun under warranty.
