My oldest son is visiting for Easter, so we made a trip to the shooting range. When we got there we were the only ones shooting so in between magazines we could pull off the ear protection and talk. And nobody came the whole time so we took our time and put 200 rounds through my Pro Carry II. We also talked about what I have learned lately about technique and accuracy. We worked a bit on his stance and he saw instant improvement. I felt more comfortable today trying to incorporate what I have learned. My breathing needs work and I just need more reps to develop muscle memory. Overall though, I shot very consistently, albeit left of center, but still pretty comparable with my best target in spite of trying to get used to new technique.

Best of all though was being with my son and having the place to ourselves and getting to talk a lot about shooting while also getting to shoot. Yep, it was an easy day.

I'm attaching a target from today. This was 48 rounds at 7 yards with my PC II .45 American Eagle 230 gr FMJ.

An excellent day indeed.

I love my daughter to pieces, but the time I spend with my son is very special. Good for you.

And nice shooting, BTW.

I know exactly how you feel I feel the same way when my son comes to town and we head over to the range or we build a fire in the back yard and sip bourbon in the evening.

Oh Yeah........!!!!

I envy you Porscheville, my son is stationed at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. I really miss hunting and shooting with him!!! The last time I hunted and shot with him was in 2012 right after he got back from deployment to Afghanistan.

Looks and sounds like you and your boy had a great time. Definitely not a hard day to handle!! Give him a big hug and tell him it's from a fat old, ex-telephone lineman who misses his son!!

Will do. Hawaii is a long haul from GA. But thank God for men like your son who are willing to stand up against the bad guys of the world so the rest of us can enjoy freedom and live in this great country. Even though he is a long way away, I know it is a good feeling to have a son you can be proud of.

:D My son will be here today. Font Darkness Art Event Graphics

His wife and four kids are already here. Daughter and her family, along with a bunch of others, will be here too.

Papa (me) has already made two huge batches of macaroni salad, and will be grilling chicken by the time they all arrive. Beer is on ice in the cooler on the deck. It's gonna be a great day.
