He and I exchanged PMs. There apparently are some personality conflicts that he chose not to put up with or attempt to rectify.

I told him there were several of us wondering about him and wishing for his return. I don't know if he will change his mind or not. I didn't feel it was my place to press the issue.

For those who may have a problem dealing with an individual on a forum developed using vBulletin, there is an "Ignore List" option under USERCP that allows you to create/maintain a list of individuals that you do not want to see their posts. It's not necessary to abandon the forum just because you clash with one or two users.

Thanks Gary. I hope I never have a reason to use it.

Since I have joined this forum I have been pleasantly surprised by the civility, helpfulness, and humor shown by the members. But there's One thing I have learned since this whole "texting" revolution has swept over our society is that you can't text your tone of voice or teasing smile that would usually show when you are speaking live to a person. Sometimes good natured "ribbing" comes across as rude and patronizing when it is texted. I have had to apologize a few times because my sarcasm was taken out of context. What I'm trying to say is maybe an innocuous comment by a well intentioned poster was taken as offensive and/or belittling. I don't think anyone on this forum intentionally tried to be rude. Just my opinion(-;

Ah, but I love some good sarcasm.

But you are correct. Intent is hard to discern unless it is surrounded by or at least followed by some indication of your intent.

This forum doesn't have very many emoticons available, but the use of :D or :) or ;) and the ever favorite tag [/sarcasm] (for not tech people, tags start with a [ xx ] and end with a [ /xx ] without the spaces. If I wanted the next line to be bold I would type [ b ] without spaces this should be bold and end with [/b ] to return to normal text) So if you're trying to be funny in a sarcastic way, placing a [/sarcasm] tag at the end helps.

I think a breathalyzer on our computers would do justice to all. I know from personal experience that if ya add too much alcohol, the "bitch" can come out and say/type something you really didn't mean.
Ya never know what kind of day a person has had or what shitty thing is going on in their life and sometimes all it takes is a spark to start a fire.
To be honest with ya, I have had to take a day off of the forum here and there just to decompress my Irish temper and I come back after the embers are out.
We have a great forum going on here so lets treat our Kimber brother like we would want to be treated......:) :D ;) :p :rolleyes: :eek: ...
