My laptop doesn't do it because I have software to prevent ad's but my phone and tablet have it like crazy...rolling and scrolling constantly..

I never thought of the browser blocking it, I'm using Firefox on my laptop maybe that's why I don't see it.

Most forums are loaded with adds.

Then it's a good thing I don't visit most forums, I'm very selective about where I spend my time.

I participate in a couple of others and look at a few more, not all firearm related.

One of the adds is for another forum called 1911 talk. I just went and looked at it. Several familiar names over there.

If you look on the bottom of the page it's the first on on the list. They call it 1911 forum here instead of 1911 talk.

Gary, It's probably your browser that's blocking the advertising. I normally use Firefox and I don't see anything but a brown rectangle up there. I tried logging on with I.E. and bingo there was the advertising, that solved I quickly went back to Firefox.

I use Google Chrome. Other forums I participate in have tons of advertising and annoying pop-ups. So I installed a Chrome plug-in call AdBlock. Works really well.

I don't mind forums having some advertising. That's how they pay the bills. But sometimes they make it so annoying you can't stand it, hence the block. There's one forum I chose to be a subscribing member ($35/yr), which gives me further customizing capabilities and freedom from ads.
