I bought a used {1 year old} PCII and one of the grip threads on the frame is completely stripped out.How big of a problem is this to repair??

Is it the frame that is stripped where the bushing screws into it or the bushing itself that the grip screw threads into?

I just reread your post and believe it's frame that's stripped so you're going to need a tap and over sized bushings like these on Brownells.

It is the threads in the frame that are stripped out.Each time I remove a screw its stripped out also so I put a new one in and a little glue to hold it each time.It's just getting a little pricey on replacement screws.

You might try searching ebay for the tap and bushings and save yourself a couple of bucks.

Thanks for the info.I found a Swenson grip bushing tap online for $19.99 and Brownells had one for $54.99 w/bushings..Appreciate the help.

If you don't already have one a 1911 catalog from Brownells is nice to have on hand.
