I have been looking at Solos for quite some time, but never have bought one. I was in Academy today, and they happened to have one..so I couldn't resist. I was informed Academy just recently started carrying Kimber. Anyway, I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about the gun, and glad I found this forum for assistance. I'm sure I'll need it!!

I'm encouraged by many posts about people not having problems with theirs. I hope to get to the range ASAP to try it out. I've had a couple of instances of a round nose-diving when trying to get a round into battery. I assume it's because of a stiff magazine spring. Only happens when 5 or 6 rounds are loaded in a magazine.

With new magazines I always load them up and let them sit for a week or so.

READ the manual, clean and lube, be sure to capture the spring on reassembly, and load your mags and let them sit.

I would love to hear a range report. One of the things I appreciate about this forum ( besides a lack of jerks ), is the honest evaluation of their range experiences and the plethora of firearm knowledge. If the two Solo owners have had flawless experiences (or not) with their guns I would like to know about it.

If it means an OVER abundance then I used that word incorrectly. I will take and appreciate all the advice I can get. To quote Bill Nye,"Everyone you meet knows something you don't know." Instead of "plethora" I should have used a more descriptive term like "shitload". Yeah, that feels like a much better fit!
