Does anyone have or have considered a pistol caliber rifle, 9mm, 40sw or 45acp? They are becoming more popular and look like a blast.

I like the old lever actions. In fact, pistol caliber rifles is a long way from a new idea. It was common, in the mid through late 1800's to match the rifle and revolver rounds. It made purchase/build and carry much easier and less space consuming.
Were I to do so today, I would have a hard time choosing. But, in the end, it would come down to a 41 or 44 mag. In fact, thinking about it, the .41 has already won the argument.

I reload 9mm and 45acp so I was looking at those calibers. I agree, they are NOT long range rifles more like 100 yards or probably less, unless you are Hicok45. More useful as a plinker or home defense. To me they just look like fun using a common relatively inexpensive pistol round. I have looked at the Beretta CX9 and the Hi-Point 995 TSRD. Beretta seems high priced and the Hi-Point has a had a bad rap with there pistols for years.

Gary, how old is your Hi-Point? The newer ones don't look that ugly to me.

The closest I can come to this is my .44 mag Ruger Super Blackhawk and my Ruger .44 mag carbine. I favor my .41 Blackhawk over the .44 and always wanted to pick up another .44 carbine and have it converted to .41 mag.

Meanwhile back on topic. My High Point is the newer style. I've had it maybe four years. It runs like a champ with even real cheap ammo. You can't beat it for an inexpensive pistol caliber carbine. My only complaint is the same as everyone who owns one. They only have 10 round magazines.

There's a carbine out there (my dad owns one) that uses Glock mags, even the 33 rounders in 9mm. I can't recall the manufacturer at the moment.
