I saw a UTube video that had a plastic/Nylon type of tool with hole in middle that is used to hold down the spring to insert the metal like key back in the hole. It was about 1 1/2" wide and about 4" long and one end had was cut at an angle to use in cleaning the magazine. Please post to this email if you know where to purchase one?

Haven't see one of those. I'm not sure what it does. Disassembly of magazines isn't that difficult. Please elaborate.

I've seen them on Ebay from time to time.

Push the top of the magazine catch down with a pen a little over half way and place a small Allen wrench through one of the mag holes and that will hold the mag spring in place. Remove the catcher and carefully pull the Allen wrench out with your hand on top of the mag and slowly let the spring extend out..{p.s...note the position of how the spring comes out because it has to go back in exactly the same}

This is the part for depressing the recoil spring/guide rod. It can also be used to depress the mag spring..

I was going to buy one but a friend of mine showed me a way to get the recoil spring off the guide rod without any tools.

I use it on my CDP II .45 & yes I've field stripped it like a man bare handed but that's silly... This tool cost $12.00 & just makes it easier & eliminates possible scratches on my $1500 gun when putting back together. Cheers Rick Lovett

Pro Carry II

Mine is a 9mm which I have made it my favorite pistol. I am now exploring the 45 also but haven't decided which model of the many that Kimber offers. I have had two Colt model 45's in the past, one a Commander and another full size. One was stolen and the other I traded for a camera. I regret not having both of them now that I am more into shooting pistols. Today I am going to shoot my brother's Colt 45 auto.
