Rookie question. The pro raptor has a 8 rd capacity and the pro tactical has a 7 rd capacity. Is the grip on the raptor actually longer? Kimber's website lists the pro raptor as 5.25 tall and the pro tactical at 5.50 tall. Doesn't make sense to me. I've held the pro tactical at lgs but can't find the pro raptor anywhere local.
Any help on this would be appreciated. Pretty tough just getting info on websites.

A quarter inch of extra length could be enough to hide an extra round. It would, of course, depend upon several other factors, (spring, bottom plate, follower, etc). But to give a straight answer, I'm afraid I can't help there. I would look at the 2012, 2013 and 2014 Kimber catalogs and see how consistent they are in those areas. We have found an error or two in the print work.

They use two different frames, one uses a full size frame and 8 round mags. the other uses a compact/officers size frame and 7 round mags.

I think that has to do with how flush the mag sets in the grip, My pro CDP II came with 7 round though it is a full size grip, But I to am confused about which ones you can use in which guns
