After reviewing a couple of, sometimes, long threads regarding the date of manufacture, the best conclusion I can come to is simply call Kimber and ask. Apparently they will give you a response right there on the phone.

I called today, gave them my serial number and had the born on date within seconds.

I called on the Ultra that my gf just bought and it was made o5/11.I'm guessing it sat on a shelf for 2 yrs 7 months??? Makes me wonder.....
Does it shoot ok?

If it does, what difference does it make. I would expect the inventory turn over of $600 guns to be much higher than $1,200 guns, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was in the shop longer.
