Visited the range this morning with my Super Carry & also my P238. Kimber is still having some issues with the slide not moving fully forward when chambering the first round off a full mag. The Wilson Combat mag seems to have the most trouble. Overall there were 10 FTF & 2 FTE (both stovepipes) with 100 rounds fired.
Only 1 FTF was not related to chambering the first round.
Including today, I have 450 rounds through it now.

Following advice of several others, I keep both mags fully loaded between range trips (loaded them a couple days ago).

Seems likely I'll be calling Kimber soon....

I also have a Super Carry and a Sig P238, for what it's worth I don't know what kind of ammo you're using but I have a Kimber with over 10,000 rounds through it that is as dependable as a gun can be. That is as long as I don't feed it PMC ammo, load 1 magazine and the gun is hell bound for failure. What I'm saying is some guns can be particular about the ammo you feed them. If you've tried various brands of ammo then by all means call Kimbers customer service but if you've been shooting the same ammo maybe try another brand before you give up on it.

Give Chuck's suggestion a shot. The next brand of ammo that you try just might be the one that your pistol really likes!!! I have a new Pro Carry II and so far I have fed it 125 rounds of Federal and I have encountered the same FTF situation with it (4 FTF's in 125 rounds). I have a couple boxes of Winchester 230 grain FMJ's lurking in my closet. They are next on the list to be fed to the PC II. They may prove to be a winner!!

Sorry to here your still having problems after 450 rounds. I would be calling Kimber today..

Amazing. Federal is considered top shelf ammo by many. Then consider PMC runs like a beast in all my guns. I would grab a few different boxes a try before sending it back as well. Good luck!

With my brand new 5-inch I was using the slide release to drop the slide and chamber the first round of a new mag. The first 5 times the round failed to fully go into battery. The slide stopped about a half inch short. Then it quit doing that and operated flawlessly. Some of the guys suggested pulling the slide back and letting it go instead of using the slide release - at least through break-in. One guy here said he never uses the slide release to chamber a round. I'm going to try the slingshot way for a bit and see if the gun loosens up. But as I said....it quit doing that on its own anyway(on the first range trip). I have 100 rounds through it now. I expect the gun to fully chamber a round whether I rack the slide or use the slide release after putting another mag in. So I will return to that later and see how it does. I haven't even had to shout expletives so far, so I'm not ready to send her back to the factory yet.
