Today I went to the range to test out the S&W AR 15-22 I picked up for my daughter.

I toted it in in her neon green Zombie Bag

I put about 150 rounds down range, the red dot scope it came with needs a bit of adjusting...

Tomorrow is my anniversary. My wife and I are doing a date day at the range, our local range has Friday 2 for 1, and also free gun rentals!!!

She is going to try out several 9mm including her current favorite the M&P Shield, and a Kimber Carry Pro chambered in 9mm to see if she likes any of them more than she likes my Beretta 9mm.

If she does, I will be buying our anniversary gift in the near future.

Also taking my Eclipse to do some serious damage to some paper dudes!

Happy anniversary to both you and the Mrs. The trip to the range sounds like a fun time. Mrs. Elidar73 I'm thinking good Kimber thoughts for you.

I am hoping she picks the Kimber in 9mm... That just validates my pursuit of the Sapphire...

Plus she can tell her friends I got her a sapphire for our anniversary and it just sounds better than a shield :)

Happy Anniversary!!

Happy anniversary ya'll!! How many years??:D
-Love the zombie rifle case!
-As much as I like my Shield, I'm sending Kimber vibrations to your wife!! My telekinetic powers are strong tonight!!!! Think Kimber, Mrs. Elidar!!
-I envy you for your wife who enjoys shooting. My wife does not have any urge to handle guns at all!!! She merely puts up with my vice!!! Not saying that that is all bad. She never gets on me about guns or hunting and shooting stuff!
-Last of all, enjoy your shooting date!! Sounds like great fun to me!!!;););)

11 years tomorrow...

She was reluctant to begin, however she is getting into it a bit. At least enough to go with me, and to allow me to introduce my daughter to shooting.

The zombie case is a huge hit and a lot cheaper than some of the cases I saw, and not badly made!

I will let you all know how it goes.

Thanks for all the kind words, I know I haven't been here long but it feels homey... :)

Day 2...

So we went to the range for our "date day."

We started with a magazine full from my Beretta M9 so she could reacquaint herself with it. We were here for her to pick a 9mm for her.

Then we started with a line of range guns.

First up, (without telling her brand name or anything) was the Ruger LC9.
A little small, and more kick than the M9.

She gave it a C overall.

Next the Kimber Pro Carry in 9mm

She loved it, A overall! (grin)

Then the Glock 9mm which she had (months ago) tried and hated.

She graded it a D overall, reinforcing that she was actually paying attention and not grading on name or anything.

Next up, the M&P Shield

She gave it a B overall, but liked the size for later as a carry gun.

Finally the Beretta PX4 Storm.

She gave it an A overall and liked it better than my M9 overall. Very comfortable to fire.

Between each range gun she would shoot a few from the M9 to keep the level set.

Then I let her shoot the AR 15-22. She loved it! She was so excited that our daughter was going to love it! (We are taking her Sunday).

Verdict : I told her the 2 she liked best were the Beretta and a Kimber in 9mm.

She was tempted by the Beretta ($500 price tag) and available, but I think we are going to wait out the Sapphire.

I will keep you posted!
