Steve

I have only done two 40 SW and cut them the same as 9mm at .064-.066 so we are on the same page. Assuming but didn’t check 10mm case rim thickness and extractor groove is the same as 40. I cut 45 at .075.

All your info is always good. And didn’t mean to step on you. Just Kimber experience that this gap is nearly always too tight. And chambers lacking freebore.

SAAMI shows them being identical. But it also shows that 10mm rim diameter is .001" larger than .40 - in other words no practical difference.

Me too.

What? We're all just helping each other out here.

I have noted that also. I see lots of barrel bump in Kimbers also.

I took the gun to the range today with different ammo. It worked 75% of the time. I am going to get some fmj tomorrow and try them this week. I cleaned and lubed the gun again and will give it another shot. Thanks for all the advice gentlemen. I really love this gun and want it to work out. It shoots lights out at 20 ft.

After playing with this and trying various 180 and 200 grain fmj factory loads, we determined that this gun was not working correctly. Scheels had another so I exchanged it for a new one that works flawlessly. My guess is that there is a tiny lip/edge where the feed ramp meets the chamber and it needs polishing. Kimber will take care of it. Thanks for all the advice. Love the new gun!

Bought the gun today and can't seem to figure out why it won't feed. Every round hangs up-no matter how many I have in the mag or what place in the mag it is. I haven't even fired the gun yet. Frustrated to say the least.

I have the exact same Kimber with the same problem. If yours has been corrected I’d love to hear how. If not send it back because you will go broke before ever “breaking it in”. I’ve tried every available cartridge in every grain from every manufacturer. Mine still jams up 1-4 times every mag and I’ve tried the top 3 mags you can buy. I have 2 other Kimber .45’s and love them so I bought the 10mm. I couldn’t be more disappointed for the price, if it was a $600 1911 it would be on me but a $2k 1911 one expects it to function. Picked up a Glock 40 Gen4 6” for $800 (these prices include tax) and it functions flawlessly. My Rapide is headed back to Kimber, would send it to Wilson for refit but they’re not accepting other manufacturers 1911’s at this time due to backlog.

Welcome to the forum.

Kimber has a great warranty and will fix it for you.
Are you using cheap S&B ammo? If so, stop.
Go buy some Sig or other quality rounds.

Congrats on your Glock running like a Hi Point.
