No, I haven't bought it yet, the tax man set me back a bit....but I've been shaking the cushions for couch money and I'm up to about $1,300.00 now. I have a serious jones for a Royal II...key word being "serious." I'm not farting around here. My son wants a Warrior SOC, but I said "Get in line!" Next gun is a Royal II!

I just hope Kimber has them available when I'm ready to throw down my million quarters and dimes. Damn that gun is pretty!;)

I wish there were a way to check with Kimber on their production schedule. LGS said ordered guns show up when they show up.

I'm going to have a couple of free days in NYC next month....but I've read that Kimber does not do tours and that they really hate drop-ins. :(

I also saw a used Royal II at my LGS but it was older. It didn't have bone grips or a blued barrel. In fact, it looked a lot like an eclipse. The finish looked nothing like the pic of the current Royal. I would love to see one of these before dropping 2 large.:eek:

Hmmm. Hyatt Gun Shop lists the Royal II as a "Special Order" and says expected delivery 10-12 weeks. They have it listed for $1700 and something which sounds better than the $2020 MSRP. :)

Oh Yeah........!!!!

THAT is one fine looking pistola!!!! I like the grips, too. If I could find bone grips like that for my PC II, I might even have second thoughts about going for the very expensive ivory!!

Let us know when you get the Royal!! Of course we will need a range report and a few pictures!! ;);) Enjoy it when you get it and be safe!!!

You gotta love the blued barrel.
I just want to ACTUALLY see one and hold it and really examine the barrel and grips. When I look at it on line or in the Kimber catalog it looks like the most beautiful pistol I have ever seen. There are approximately . . . ZERO in Utah. Even the big stores are bereft of this beauty. $1700 is not unreasonable, but its still a shitload of cash to justify to the better half. But I never complain when she buys groceries or clothes for the children.

Yes, Charlotte. I've never bought from them but they advertise as "the largest." So I checked on 'Her Majesty' and got the same as everywhere else...NOT IN STOCK. SPECIAL ORDER. I think the price is $1,729.00, which is $300 less than MSRP. I'll bide my time, but I will have her!

As the Wicked Witch of the West says: "These things must be handled delicately." I could remind her of the guns and butter principle of investing....but what I prefer is to cash my expense checks which are usually $50 to $300, and contribute $60 here or $100 there and then cash in my spare change jar which will be about $300. None of it is money I take from checking or savings so she doesn't miss it. I also never actually say: "This is a two thousand dollar gun!"...I prefer to be more vague. Not dishonest, but not spilling my guts either. She knows guns are roughly $800 or $900....which still sounds reasonable.

And if all else fails, I'll remind her that she said "why don't you just get a new gun?" :cool:

{She knows what you been reading,she knows when your awake,she knows you want that Kimber so be good for goodness sake}

Trust me on this...Mine {GiGi} did it already...:D
As long as I'm talking to a bunch of other 60 year old men I can say anything I want and she could care less. I'm bulletproof. :cool:

I vaguely remember the good old days back when I was 60.
