Roxy - 2001-2012. She still lives in my hearts!! My first and only best friend, kid, partner etc. etc. Broke me when I had to put her down due to a severe neural disorder that kept her immobile for over a year.
I understand. After all Harrie and I have been through I hope he just passes in his sleep at some point. I have had to shoot a few of my dogs in the past but I would hate to do that even if I could, to a dog I lived with, worked with and slept with all that time. I almost lost him a couple times as it was.

Here are the two guys that walk me every evening at 9:00 PM. The Border Collie on the left is named Hampton, my son named him after the great Chicago Bear "Dan Hampton. He was my sons dog until he got married, they asked me to keep him until they got settled in, 10 years later they're still getting settled. The yellow Labrador Retriever on the right is "Cody" I got him as a pup shortly after I retired, he'll be 14 on March 22. He is the best retriever I've ever had, I think he actually liked goose and duck hunting more then I did despite the fact that he's the one that had to jump out of the boat into the cold water.

I can totally understand. In '01, we went to see some pups. And this one jumped out of the blue and started following my daughter all over the place. We brought her home without knowing what was involved in taking care of dogs !! And she did follow my daughter all her life :) Was very protective of her too.

My 1st pic is our sweet dog,a toy Poodle that lived with our family for 19 years. A very smart and loyal dog. When she left us I told the family no more dogs. Two years later little Rubee was welcomed into out home. She is a AKC Red Tea Cup Poodle. Just as smart and very loyal.

Nice photos and good looking dogs. How about some specs: breed, weight, height, etc.
Both are Belgian Malinois. Harrie in his prime was 81-84 lbs. I just realized at the vet last week that I have let him gain about 8 lbs more than he should. He is on a diet. He goes 27" at the wither. Incredible bite pressure as 10k worth of dental work should prove.

Bako is taller and thicker running 90 lbs and is retard strong but very athletic and light on his feet.

Both were KNPV title dogs imported from Holland and selected from a batch of dogs we tested in California.

Both are explosive detection and patrol (hunt people) dogs.

We had our last dog 17 years. He was a medium size mutt we got at the pound. After the vet said he needed to be put down, I decided I did not want any more dogs. Maybe when our travel days are done, we'll consider one for companionship. But that'll be a long way off.
