I avoid glass top ranges for that very reason.
Electric is fine, but glass top ranges are a non starter for us.
Most of my extensive cast iron arsenal is close to 100 years old, and some of it gets used almost every meal.
I avoid glass top ranges for that very reason. The Lodge Factory is only 44 miles from Chattanooga so you can buy it almost every where. From grocery store to Walmart. Cast iron does not work great on a glass cooktop. I have Mom’s old iron skillets but only make cornbread in one of them.
I know but during the kitchen remodel, wife didn't want no old school coil wire cook top (even if Home Depot had one in stock) didn't match the decor and all that crap. I do the cooking anyway so it is what it is. I don't love the glass top either mainly because even just fixing a grilled cheese sandwich makes a mess and lets not even talk about frying bacon...I avoid glass top ranges for that very reason.

Yeah, Momma just had to have one too. Now she constantly complains because it shows “everything “ that gets on it. So guess who gets to polish the dang thing all the time!!!😁I know but during the kitchen remodel, wife didn't want no old school coil wire cook top (even if Home Depot had one in stock) didn't match the decor and all that crap.
