My Custom Classic is stamped Clackamas Oregon not Yonkers New York. I was wondering if that was significant in any way or just a curiosity. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Um NO Sir Duke My baby is with me forever. AND since posting this question I have found a guy at a local gunshop and range that is quite the Kimber Aficionado. he looked my Kimber over and based on it's low serial number and the stamp he has confirmed what you said. She's a first run Custom Classic and a damned peach at that. I am SUPER happy with my sub $500 purchase! To the best of my knowledge, which is limited, the Clackamas are the first of the first Kimbers. They are rumored to have been manufactured with higher QC then the later Yonkers stamped. Although I hear that any series I kimber is top notch.
So to the kimber enthusiast you have one of the classic kimbers. They are sought after by kimber gurus, so alot of folks would say the stamp means best of the best.
To me it means old and used, you should probably sell it to me....and cheap.
