After getting it back from Kimber and putting 300 rounds through it without a problem, there was the "can I trust to carry" issue. This morning at the range I decided to try 4 different types of ammo and 120 rounds later....it left the range inside my waistband where it belongs. Not one FTE and the trust is finally earned..

Congratulations, I am glad it is working for you. I too carry the Solo I bought for my wife.

Yesterday I saw a Sig Sauer P238 with pink grips and she tried to rack the slide. She couldn't believe how easy it was. She told me if she had that, she would carry it. So I have decided I would get it for her but I needed to sell a couple of others. So this morning I sold a Walther (Inter Arms PPKS 380). That way I get to keep her Solo for myself. I also get to keep my SCUP. Yahoo

Tried some Federal HST 147 LE HP today and the Solo performed well without any issues.I had a box of PMC 124 that the Solo wouldn't shoot prior to getting it back from Kimber and I figured what the heck and tried it also. Not a hiccup even with the cheaper stuff...Thinking I'll shoot it a little less at the range since I'm halfway to a spring replacement and the trust is back...

UPS delivered my Solo 37 seconds ago. Back from Kimber and the note with it stated that they test fired in the condition received with the following ammo. 3 mags of American Eagle 124GR FMJ and 2 mags of Federal HYDRASHOK 147GR JHP . They were unable to verify the claim of failure to eject. They supposedly replaced thumb safety pins and cleaned and lubed the gun and returned. Laser battery now dead.
I will return with it to the range and if the problems still exist, it will be up for sale on back page!

It seems that my Solo has an appetite for fun.I found a box of Blazer Brass 115gr in the bottom of the safe and curiosity got the best of me.I know the gun is only to be used with 124/147 ammo but someone didn't tell my Solo that.It shot all that I put in it without an issue.

Eats all ammo

I have had similar experience with mine. Others have had serious FTE issues and I am fortunate to not. I suspect the later models have had some changes to design that is resulting in the better performance. But others may have a different opinion.

Solo: Light Primer Strikes

Perhaps there are others who could use the following info:
Although I haven't fired my Solo too many times, I began getting a lot of light primer strikes with every brand of ammo I tried (all brands recommended by Kimber). Yesterday I removed the firing pin and saw that there was quite a lot of grunge around the base of the pin. I cleaned it thoroughly, took it out to the range today, and it worked flawlessly.
I wish I could have the same luck with the 8-round mag. The 6-rounders work fine, but the second or third round of the 8-rounder nose-dives into the mag and fails to feed. Any suggestions?

Thanks for sharing your findings. I'm sure someone will benefit from it. I'm not a Solo owner and can't answer your question. The Solo guys should be around shortly.
