Hey. I've been a Solo owner and visitor here as a guest for almost a year. I just recently registered. I've enjoyed much of what I've seen here.
I bought a Solo Carry last year and shot the heck out of it. Maybe 1,500 to 1,700 rounds. All 115 except for the short break-in period. No troubles at all. Sold it not too long ago to buy a 1911. Just a week or so ago I traded for a Solo Carry. Shot it for a few days and noticed the extractor needed adjustment. Sent it to Kimber and it is back today. That's one week and three days turnaround. Since sending it off, I bought a Solo CDP. I've only shot it three times but the last time I shot 20 rounds of Federal Champion 115 and it works great.
I have had no trouble with my Solos other than the extractor (and I just think it has a lot of rounds through it and needs to be adjusted). I think they are the coolest 9mm on the market.
I'm sorry to hear those who are having trouble. I wish I could help. Sometimes I think this argument reminds me of cars. It seems like a car that you like just runs better than one you don't.

Well I got my Solo Carry back today from Kimber. I thought they would adjust my extractor and maybe put in a new extractor spring. But, they replaced the slide, barrel, extractor and spring and recoil spring. Holy cow. Just the frame is original. Can't wait to shoot it tomorrow. It's a brand new gun. You can not beat Kimber for standing behind their guns.
I'll post how it shoots.

Excellent! I sure hope it runs like a champ. Most Kimber CS stories are good.

Since they replaced everything but the frame I'd treat it like a new gun and go through the break in procedure in the owners manual.

Ok. Shot 20 rounds of Armscor 124 Gr fmj and 5 rounds of Federal Champion 115 gr. Worked like a charm. Ordered some black sunburst g-10 grips from Spresser for one of my Solos. Who needs two Solos?
I'll shoot it again tomorrow. Life is good!!!

Solo Dc

Josey,

Who told you the DC would be in in a couple of days? I sure hope its true. I have had one on order from a Kimber Master Dealer for 14 months. Originally Kimber CS said last quarter of 2013, then first quarter of 2014, and now they told be middle of 2014. Would love to get my hands on the DC.

Thanks,
Rat
