New to this forum and currently have a 1911 Ultra TLE II and have been very happy with it. Just decided to puschase a solo for cc and like the Solo Carry DC (all matte black). However, no dealers in my area have one and even gunbroker.com doesn't have one (but they over 4 pages of solos). Are they in limited supply or not out to dealers yet? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum a cold northern Illinois r1butler. One of the things Kimber is famous for is highlighting a new gun then not putting it into production for a couple of years.

Welcome from Las Vegas!
I wanted a Solo the first time I saw it before introduction! I visited and put my name on want lists at all Kimber dealers in Southern Nevada! I was on a quest, and became a pest to a lot of dealers. After about two years (last April) I found one, a CDP LG. I purchased it at once and took it home. Solo's are hard to come by. There have been some with problems and I think Kimber is not releasing them to keep up with the demand. All I cam say is keep pluging away, and get your name on what ever list your dealers have. First one to come through, buy it!

A month or so Gunbrokers had a CDP LG that was offered at $1069.00. That is what I have I paid a little more but not much more. I do like the Crimson Trace laser and the night sights. I think Kimber is holding back the lower price ones. The stainless was put on hold or was not being shipped about the first of the year. My advice is if you want one take what you can get!

I put my name on a waiting list for a Solo last April and in mid-Nov. got a call from the dealer that they had received 6 of the stainless models. I had ordered a two-tone, but went with the STS rather than continue to wait. I am glad that I did. It is a great little gun.

The finish on some two tones have had some issues.
The STS is about as ugly as it is going to get .
Love my STS.

If there's a weak spot on Kimbers it's the Kimpro finish, it's not known for holding up well.

I'm having my PCII 9mm refinished with a Cerakote two tone by the gunsmith at the range.Graphite Black on top and Satin Aluminum on the frame..My gun is 2 years old and the rail almost looks grey from wear.
Post a picture of it when you get it back, I like to see it.

I finally called Kimber customer service this morning ( there in montana when you call) spoke with a nice rep. after the inquisition she gave me an RMA # and received a shipping label a little after noon.
Boxed the Solo up and off to UPS and shipped it back. Lets see if they can or will fix it. I was told 6 to 8 weeks to complete.........
Looks like I will be carrying the Sig for a while longer..........
