I guess this is my "Barbeque Gun".lol Some of you may have figured out I was wanting a Sapphire, went to three LGS they all said Kimber stopped making them, laughed at me and walked off. I went straight home got on the old laptop and what do you know I found about 8 or 10 for sale, still new in box. Some were priced way over MSRP. Sandy Springs Gun Range had one listed for $130.00 less than MSRP, paid up, pistol transfer was $40.00 at my LGS.
Range report asap. I did break it down and clean and lube today. I will see if I can get a pic for you guys, I know how you love them. Already had guys at the LGS say I bet your wife will love it. Good or bad bought it for myself, to shoot. Had to change Kimber "Want" priority list, Stainless Raptor will now have to be number 3.

Nobody owned up to having one. Now at least you can all say you know a guy that has one.

"Came with computer"lol. Good one. Didn't want to just sit it on the ground for a pic. I got some pretty good pics of the Sapphire but it really is impressive in person. I had people coming up and looking over my shoulder to see it at Sandy Springs and my local store. Thanks guys and Gigi.

Congratulations on the new Sapphire, DO NOT holster it, the finish is not very durable and Kimber will not refinish it.

Thanks, I have been told about the finish a lot but have never seen photo proof from a actual owner. The Youtube video from the 2012 Shot Show of the Sapphire introduction claimed just the opposite Kimber claimed it is very durable. Going to shoot it but it will not become an EDC pistol. I hope I don't find out but it does look like it would be easy to scratch. May be hard to believe but this is my first 9mm firearm.

One of the main reasons Kimber stopped making the Sapphire was problems with the finish. Kimber makes a great gun but their weak spot is the finish they put on them. The Kimpro II finish is another another one that wears quickly.

That is a definite "Barbecue Gun"!!! You'd pay hell to come up with a holster that would do justice to that pistol!!! I think I'd just hang it around my neck on a silver lanyard chain, so everyone could see it!!!

I enlarged the attached picture just so I could drool on it!!!
Congrats and enjoy. You may have to hire security just to keep the admiring crowds back while you are shooting!!!

That pistol even upstaged a Raptor!! And I did not think that was possible!!

Thanks,I don't have a holster worthy of the Sapphire, probably won't get one, don't know yet. It will probably only be carried in my padded range bag.
I really had planned to buy a Stainless Pro or Ultra Raptor, (had not made up my mind which) but when I found out Kimber had stopped making the Sapphire, I had to rethink my plan. Had been checking all the sell and auction sites and was finding some listed but a lot were already priced way over MSRP. Two hour drive to Atlanta new in box, under MSRP was a no brainer to me. Going to start saving for a Raptor now.

Highnoon is a sweet hoster and Im sure one of their exotic leathers could suffice and be worthy of letting that sweet sweet put slip on..make sure its the whole gun and not just the tip
