Hello All,
New to the forum and just purchased a new Stainless Pro Carry ii over the weekend and have nothing but good to report. First two hundred rounds down range with absolutely no problems at all. No FTF, FTE, stovepipes, locked back on empty every time. Thought it'd be good to report the good because it seems the problem posts outnumber the satisfied posts.
I had a few poly guns (PX4/45, Ruger LC9/LCP) and a Springfield Micro 45. Don't miss them at all. Even had a Kimber Polymer Pro Carry that I wish I still had. I'm extremely happy with my Pro Carry and looking forward to putting more Kimbers in the stable.

Welcome to the forum from northern Illinois sfm629. I believe that most of those reported problems are from people that neglect to read the owners manual and fail to follow the instructions for breaking in their gun. The initial care and feeding of a new gun is usually the key to how it will preform.

Welcome. Nice to hear some happy comments. Kimbers are great guns. I think most of us who have had minor hickups were experiencing ammo or magazine issues. I need to send another 200 or 300 down range go complete my break in, and I'm looking forward to it.

Thanks for the warm welcome

Still have 300 break in rounds to go but from the looks of the first 200 I don't expect any problems at all.
The only thing I'd like to change is the MS housing. Not that there's anything really wrong with it, it's just that I think aluminum is more appropriate than plastic. Any thoughts on makers such as Hogue, Wilson etc... What would you recommend.

Break in Completed

Sorry to bring up an old thread but decided I needed to follow up with the pro carry II break in.
Well, finished putting the full 500 rounds down range and had absolutely no issues at all. It performed flawlessly in all aspects.
This is my first Kimber and considering the issues I had with my Springfield and Colt to break them in, it's no contest, not even close.
This is definitely going to be my primary carry weapon.

I need more Kimbers!!!

No need to apologize sfm629, this is your thread and we're always interested in follow up reports. It sounds like your break in went well, keep tracking your rounds, 300 more and it will be time to replace your recoil spring.
