I got a deal on 10 boxes of Tul Ammo 45acp awhile back and it ran fine through my Kimber. After the boxes were gone I went back to the ammo that I normally use. I don't miss the "puff" of smoke or the black-like soot that comes with a Russian made product. They also are coated with a polymer/lacquer that eventually gunks up the barrel...If your looking for inexpensive factory ammo, try Freedom Munitions. A box of 500 45acp are $168+s&h...Many of the forum members use this ammo in their firearms..

No, no, no, no, no.

Do not buy Freedom Munitions. They're out of stock all the time anyway, so ...

yeah, stick with the Russian stuff.

I bought a box of Tul back when .45 was about impossible to find. I fired about 2 mags and gave the rest away. Freedom Munitions is the way to go, their reloads are better then some of the the new stuff you find on the shelves.

Why?

You spent big bucks for a premium grade Kimber pistol. Then you turn around and want to fed it a bunch of foreign made, filthy, junk ammo!!! The gun world is pretty much the same as the rest of the world---you get what you pay for!!! I tried some of that Rusky stuff once, because someone who didn't like it gave it to me. The chamber scrubbing project after 50 rounds was enough to sour me on that stuff!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!:mad:

The majority of reloads are also pretty much junk. The financial principle behind commercial reloaded ammunition is to load as much as possible for the least investment in materials and labor. Manufacturing cost is the key issue, not quality or accuracy!! :(:(

HOWEVER, there are a limited number of "re-manufacturers" , such as Freedom, that exercise extreme care in manufacturing and utilize the highest quality components resulting in new manufcture or better ammo performance. When one of these is recommended by experienced shooters, that is a brand name that you can trust in!!;);)
