Over the next few weeks I will be adding a new Kimber to my collection. It will be in 9mm but I haven't decided which one Has to be 4" barrel but can't decide between the Tactical proII or Pro carryII which I would have to change the sights to be something I can see. What do you guys think.

I think yes, go for it!

I really hate posts like this, it's like asking which girl you should marry or which car you should buy. It's just too much of a personal choice, take your time and look them over real good, go to your LGS and handle them and if you still can't make up your mind buy both of them.

I say you sleep with both of them, then drive home alone in your new car.

No, wait, that wasn't the question.

Tactical Pro is the right answer.

They are both Kimbers with 4-inch barrels and aluminum frames. They are the same gun with the exception of the grips and the sights. The tactical is $300 more. Sights cost about $150 and for the other $150 you can buy most any grips you want. Seems like you can't go wrong either way.

I bought a stainless Pro Carry II, put on Heine Tritium sights with a cocking shoulder and change my grips when ever the wind blows, it would seem.

As has been said, the PCII is a great gun. If the Tactical's upgrades like front strap checkering, trigger guard checkering, a mag well and such are important to you, it's less expensive to get them from the factory then to add them later.

Yeah, I didn't notice the mag well. All the upgrades together would be more than the extra $300. So, you have to ask yourself, "Do I want those upgrades? Well, do I punk?"

I would go with the one that makes my liver quiver when I pick it up. its usually anything with a trigger. so good luck and let us know.
Ah, the old "visceral response" selection method. I can accept that. ;)

Having sold one of my Sig .45s I need to replace it and I want to stay in something like my CDP Pro II but in 9mm, as my hands are getting worse.

Yup, I understand the hands....
The 9mm will be a little softer, you can't go wrong with either one.

Arthritis is trying to make my hands inflexible and reduces grip strength. Difficult to make a tight fist, but I do it regularly just to retain the motion. Practice squeezing a rubber ball.

I own 5 Kimbers, A Warrior, Super carry ProHD, Master Carry Ultra, CDP2 Pro. and a ultra CDP2 9mm. I have ordered a Super carry ultra plus and I am excited as hell to get it. I'm not a rich man, I just try and get a new gun every year or so. My CDP2 Ultra 9mm is an absolute jewel. I carry it in the winter months and it is rock solid dependable. You won't regret it. But if you want a little more barrel, the Tactical Pro 2 in 9 mm looks very tempting.

Ahhh, buying new Kimbers can be such fun, yet the wait is maddening. I suppose if you order one of the Custom Shop models it takes a little longer.

I'm still not 100% sold on the Micro or the Solo. But if you are focused on getting a 9mm you might want to look at the Aegis line. People who have owned them love them. Make sure you are comfortable with the slender grip. But they are beautiful looking firearms.

Being a 1911 frame, couldn't you change grips on the Aegis if you wish? My personal tastes would choose the 1911 style.

I own an Aegis ultra II in 9mm. It is my most frequent EDC in the summer. Great pistol, easy to carry and 100% reliable. If you can find one buy the darn thing. You won't be sorry!
