In the past we have known of Kimber repairing under warranty used pistols bought by people and original owners that the pistol is years out of warranty.

I purchased a previously owned Solo that was originally purchased several years prior. Surprise surprise... the POS didn’t work.

I politely, humbly and simply told the gal at Kimber CS that the gun doesn’t work and I don't know what to do (no details or long-winded whining). CS cheerfully issued me an RMA.

As PaulR succinctly put it… “less is more”. And don‘t be THAT guy who acts like a know-it-all. Those CS folks have heard it all a million times.

Kimber can be very funny when dealing with used guns. I've told this story here before... a friend of mine bought a malfunctioning Kimber Custom with a lot of cosmetic wear at a great price. We both looked it over, and he decided to have it gone over by Kimber. He contacted Kimbers customer service and explained what he had and what he wanted to be done, got a price and sent it in. At that time, turn around service was about 9 weeks, his took almost 12 weeks but when he received the gun back he had to check the serial number to be sure it was the same gun. It looked like it just came off the assembly line, even the grips were new and other than his original shipping cost to send the gun in there were NO OTHER CHARGES. The gun was completely rebuilt and refinished, all on Kimbers nickle.

Have never filled out those cards.
I don't hesitate to buy a quality used gun. Not tampered with in good condition. Quality manufacturers stand behind their products.
Kimber CS is very helpful. Just talked to them earlier today. About a gun i told them was bought used.

They sent me a owners manual at no charge a few months ago for another. Told them it was bought used.

I don't expect CS to be responsible for modified or abused guns.

Hope you have the best of luck if you choose to buy used. Stay safe and have a blast.

Buy a HiPoint or a Walther. Full warranty for life no questions asked. Only issue with Walther is if the gun is no longer made they will only service it as long as parts are still available.
