Kimber can be very funny when dealing with used guns. I've told this story here before... a friend of mine bought a malfunctioning Kimber Custom with a lot of cosmetic wear at a great price. We both looked it over, and he decided to have it gone over by Kimber. He contacted Kimbers customer service and explained what he had and what he wanted to be done, got a price and sent it in. At that time, turn around service was about 9 weeks, his took almost 12 weeks but when he received the gun back he had to check the serial number to be sure it was the same gun. It looked like it just came off the assembly line, even the grips were new and other than his original shipping cost to send the gun in there were NO OTHER CHARGES. The gun was completely rebuilt and refinished, all on Kimbers nickle.
